About Me

Eternal Learner

I doubt there will ever be a time in my life where I don’t want to learn anything else new. I love when work presents a puzzle to solve and I quickly get bored with the mundane. I want to know how things work and why they work that way.

Neurospicy Introvert

I’m guaranteed to be an awkward conversationalist and small talk schmoozing makes me crazy inside. I want to hear your life story, what makes your soul sing and what makes your eye twitch.

Sometimes Artist

I love working with acrylic & watercolor. I have officially licensed prints of Samford Hall displayed at Auburn University in the office of the President and Senior VP of Research and Development, as well as in the new Huntsville Research Center.

Slightly Technical

Generally, I’m not scared off by getting in the technical weeds or in having to learn a new tool or implementation method. I started off as a CS major before the second semester of C++ taught me that I’d much rather be a designer.

Always Reading

I always have at least one book going. I prefer Fiction but beyond that, I love anything from Thrillers to Fantasy. I feel like a kid on Christmas day when my Book of the Month box comes in.

Rotary Member

When I was growing up, I thought Rotary Club was just for retired men. Until almost 1990, when female members were accepted nationally, that was even true in practice. I’m proud to be a part of a changed club and a growing membership of working women.

My People & My Art

In 2021, we bought this historic 100+ year old building downtown. Since my husband and I both work remote, we built a co-working space up here.

It had been a shoe repair shop all of our lives. Fun fact, I still get people coming in asking where they went and if I can fix their shoes.

People always ask me if I’m just waiting to be able to quit my job and do art at the store full-time. While I won’t ever turn down a successful business, when art turns into a job, it stops meaning as much. Where art scratches the soul, working in software scratches the brain.
